Victor Fraser LCSW | Professional Psychotherapy Services

I work with adults who are outwardly functional but internally overwhelmed — emotionally reactive, stuck in repetitive relationship patterns, or quietly exhausted by holding it together.

My clinical focus

Much of my work is with individuals in recovery and those closely impacted by addiction, where substance use or compulsive behaviors are not the core problem but a way of managing deeper emotional turmoil.
Therapy focuses on understanding and stabilizing the inner world — self-esteem, resentments, shame, anxiety, and long-standing narratives about oneself and others — so that life becomes more manageable and relationships more workable.

I'm often a good fit if you are...

-
emotionally reactive and tired of repeating the same patterns
-
struggling to let go of substances or compulsive behaviors despite the impact on your life
-
carrying resentment, shame, or anxiety that runs your life internally
-
in recovery (or recovery-adjacent) and wanting deeper emotional sobriety
-
intellectually aware but still struggling to change what you do in the moment
-
willing to engage consistently and take an active role in therapy

How I work
My approach is structured, relational, and practical. I draw from DBT, CBT, EMDR, and mindfulness-based work, with an emphasis on:
-
slowing things down when emotions spike
-
increasing distress tolerance and emotional range
-
clarifying what you actually want (versus what you’re reacting to)
-
translating insight into behavior change
-
working directly with shame, anger, resentment, and avoidance
This is active, engaged therapy rather than open-ended venting. Most sessions include a combination of processing, pattern-mapping, and skills-based work.

What therapy can help with

People come to me for support with:
-
emotional volatility and interpersonal conflict
-
anxiety, shame, and chronic self-criticism
-
trauma history and unresolved relational wounds
-
early recovery, relapse dynamics, and emotional sobriety
-
relationship repair, trust issues, and intimacy blocks
-
compulsive behaviors used to regulate emotion

My Services
Psychotherapy
Individual therapy for Adults
I provide structured, engaged psychotherapy for adults who feel outwardly functional but internally overwhelmed - emotionally reactive, anxious, ashamed, resentful, or stuck in repetitive relationship patterns, Sessions are practical and relational, with a focus on building emotional tolerance, clarity, and behavior change - not just insight.
Couples Therapy
Communication, repair, and trust
Couples work focuses on interrupting the cycles that keep you stuck - escalations, stonewalling, resentment, mistrust, and unmet needs that don't get clearly communicated or acknowledged. I use the principles of Gottman to help you build back trust, develop better communication, and reconnect with the friendship, passion, and connection at the heart of each relationship.
Group Therapy
Community, connection, and accountability
I am currently building a waitlist for several therapy groups, including a men's process group, a DBT skills group, and a group for people in or curious about recovery. I have my years of experience as a group facilitator, and as such groups are structured and supportive, with an emphasis on practical tools and interpersonal growth.
